WiderPath works to reduce incarceration and substance abuse, while improving economic conditions, mental and physical health, and social connectedness amongst the addiction recovery population. WiderPath aims to provide an integrated AI and community platform called Tara, which helps individuals clarify their internal meaning and cultivate healthier community interactions through seminars and ongoing support. By focusing on individual aspirations and values, Tara seeks to improve decision-making and enhance quality of life, offering a resource to navigate meaning in a complex digital age while preserving human agency. WiderPath’s addiction recovery project will provide an intensive, scientifically designed intervention for 30 people for a year who are in addiction recovery, many with non-violent convictions. The participants will go through an intensive 2.5 day behavioral intervention and then receive daily support from human facilitators and an AI, as well as weekly live sessions and quarterly in person sessions.
