Inkludo seeks to support social enterprises in underserved communities by providing two services: 1) access to financing and 2) non-financial support and ecosystem building. The organization’s goal is to help impact-focused enterprises that are solving social and environmental challenges access capital easily and grow sustainably. Inkludo seeks to serve marginalized communities, specifically smallholder farmers, rural women, and low-income households in rural communities. The project will initially focus on communities in India, collaborating with local partners such as the Villgro Foundation and Caspian Impact Investments. Inkludo plans to expand to other geographies such as East Africa, US, and the Philippines in the future. The project will unlock commercial capital by providing first-loss default guarantees (FLDGs) to impact-focused lenders and other financial institutions. These FLDGs will fuel capital access for ventures in marginalized communities that face disproportionate challenges and inequities. Inkludo will also offer market linkages, technical assistance, and capacity-building to innovators and social enterprises in underserved communities through local market enterprise support organizations. Through this work, Inkludo will empower social enterprises and local communities to implement solutions that foster climate resilience and create a more equitable society.
